YAWN

You know that feeling when you are kind of sad and you are hanging out with your beautiful friend and she’s making you laugh but she’s also kind of going through it? Yawn is an electro dream pop project that creates a gorgeously intimate space with lush synth layering and gorgeously warm vocals. The package is lovingly woven together by the complex and joyously self-deprecating Julia McDougall. It is at the same time a captivating one-woman show and a cathartic peek into someone else’s tear-stained diary and wistfully swaying on the dance floor with your best friend. Yawn has been produced by Andy Shauf and for their debut album worked with Jo Hirabayashi (Jo passed, formerly of Sub-pop records) to be released in June of 2025.
